I empathize with all of the New Generation of LGB individuals coming up in these New years. But, so-called “acceptance” of us has become our downfall. We use to have Pride and Family and Strength in our Love for Eachother, because we were Not getting it from the majority of society if Any. “Acceptance” took that away from this Generation. Be Careful what you wish for!
We, as a Community” Loved HARD, Partied HARD, Protected Eachother, had Unity and Pride instead of Division and Debauchery! We FOUGHT to find LOVE and when we Found it… We Cherished it! Not this Generation., mistaking sex for momentary Love, then on to the next. This is not an Attack, it’s an Alarm Clock sounding you to Wake Up!
Our Parades were a Celebration of our Strength, our Pride and our Unity. Now, just a Show-off, Showcase, Skin fest Joke… simply to say “Look at ONLY Me!” We’ve left True Pride behind! We took Bullets, Beatings, Being spit on, Name callings, and Hatred so YOU wouldn’t have to. But we didn’t expect you to FORGET! We didn’t expect you to FLY OFF THE HANDLE! We didn’t expect you to Lose that sense of Family in our communities. Choosing to be some Done-up rag doll Dancing around like a court Jester… looking, acting, and sounding like a deranged half naked man/woman Hybrid. You Can do better. We ALL can do better.
Luckily, We Can go back. The MUSIC can play once more and our Love can Mean something again. You Can have it as we did and still do. Be Subject to Eachother. Stop PRANCING and thinking “Looks” are the most important part of a person. Look DEEPER. Stop PERFORMING for attention from the Str8 world and just be Yourself. Read a BOOK about Sodom and Gomorrah and STONEWALL!
I am 55yo and I have it ALL! MY Generation of Gay FAMILY (whom I Love with all my heart), My Husband (whom I cherish and adore Above all others), Our Home (built on a foundation for our future), Our Birth Family (who didn’t have to Understand Us but simply Respects us as a part of the Family), TRUE PRIDE, and RESPECT (In one’s Self and our Community), and Dignity with No desire for OTHERS Attention or Acceptance! THAT’S why We made it!
You can make your Generational “Mark”. But first Find your inner Dignity and Love, THAT’S where it starts. The energy you give off is the energy that you attract. Sex is GREAT but not the only thing. Look past the Packaging and Labels. See someone’s Inner Person. It’s NEVER too late to find LOVE!
I have started hearing More and More Self-Hate and Community Hate towards Eachother. I would not change being a Lover of Men for all the money in the world. It’s one of my Greatest GIFTS from the creator of ALL! It’s WHAT I am not WHO I am. You need to Understand and Accept that fact. You would be Surprised how fast Everything else falls in line with That Realization and Mindset.
You can do Better…We ALL can do Better!
